Rainhill - Net Score 253 Southport Trinity - Net Score 236 Rainhill (3 pts) beat Southport Trinity (0 pts) by 17 runs Scorecard Rainhill's U11s Amazon team continued their winning start to the season with a 17-run home victory over Southport Trinity on Tuesday evening. Southport Trinity performed well throughout and took three early wickets. However, Ayaan Maheshwari and Alex Rustidge came to the rescue and played some excellent shots to help their team to a total of 93 for 8 - a nets score of 253. Noah Lavery was the outstanding bowler for the visitors, taking 3 for 17. Southport played positively and with determination. However, a strong bowling and fielding performance - with wickets from Albie Ambage (2 for 17), Isabel Vizard, Sarah Lawler and Alex Rustidge - proved crucial and helped the hosts secure the win. Joseph Saunders performed well as wicketkeeper and there were great performances from Scarlett Ashton-Smith and Lucy Gibson in her first hardball match. Amazons currently sit on the top of the league with nine points from their opening three matches. their next game is away to second-placed Formby on Monday 22nd May.
