Southport Trinity performed well throughout and took three early wickets. However, Ayaan Maheshwari and Alex Rustidge came to the rescue and played some excellent shots to help their team to a total of 93 for 8 - a nets score of 253. Noah Lavery was the outstanding bowler for the visitors, taking 3 for 17. Southport played positively and with determination. However, a strong bowling and fielding performance - with wickets from Albie Ambage (2 for 17), Isabel Vizard, Sarah Lawler and Alex Rustidge - proved crucial and helped the hosts secure the win. Joseph Saunders performed well as wicketkeeper and there were great performances from Scarlett Ashton-Smith and Lucy Gibson in her first hardball match.
