Scorecard

A hat-trick from Amber Bowie helped Rainhill's U15s to victory over Oxton - and sent a warning to other teams in the league that Rainhill are a force to be reckoned with.

Amber struck to remove Oxton opener E Mai for 19, thanks to an expert stumping from keeper Sam Addy. Her next ball bowled J Davies and the hat trick ball was played by R Warikoo into the hands of Gianni Albanese, who held a fantastic catch. It was a remarkable achievement and an indication of Amber's enormous potential as a bowler.

There were also two wickets for Arjun Bali and one for Aakash Muraleetharan as Oxton finished on 97 for 6 from their 20 overs. It was not a bad score from the visitors, although Rainhill will have been happy with the way they bowled and fielded throughout the innings.

Sam Addy and Shreyash Mishra opened the batting for Rainhill and answered all the questions Oxton's bowling attack asked of them. They played carefully and while Oxton tried 10 different bowlers they couldn't find a way of breaking the partnership. The duo reached the target of 98 without loss with Addy finishing on 41 not out and Mishra with an unbeaten 45. However, don't let the 10-wicket margin of victory fool you - the match went down to the penultimate ball in a dramatic finish.

The result moves Rainhill level on points with Liverpool at the top of the league.
