Rainhill Cricket Club will be hosting a series of sessions for youngsters in the coming weeks as part of the ECB's Dynamos and All Stars Cricket initiative.
Dynamos is aimed at young people aged 8-11, while All-Stars is for those between the ages of 5 and 8. Girls and boys are welcome. Both schemes are designed to give them positive experiences of cricket and hopefully build a new generation of life-long cricket fans.
Dynamos and All Stars Cricket are part of a national project co-ordinated by the ECB, with well over 100 clubs in Lancashire taking part in these specially designed 8-week programmes this summer.
Rainhill CC will kick off their Dynamos sessions on Tuesday 18th May, with All-Stars commencing on Friday 21st May. The club will run subsequent sessions on every Tuesday/Friday. All sessions will run from 6pm to 7pm.
Over the 8 weeks, children will learn the key skills of cricket (batting, bowling and fielding) as well other key life skills such as teamwork. The programme is designed to allow every child to succeed at their own level.
All Stars provides children with 8 weeks of non-stop fun. The activity and game based programme is suitable for all skill levels, providing your child with the foundations to begin a lifelong love of physical activity and cricket, while making friends in a safe and enjoyable environment. Dynamos is similarly open for all skill levels, and introduces children to countdown cricket. Both programmes deliver the School Curriculum of the 12 fundamental movement skills a child needs in their physical development.
Every child who signs up for the programme will receive their own kit bag delivered to their home including:
• A Bat and Ball • Personalised T-Shirt • Cap
The eight sessions cost a total of £40 and can be booked online via the ECB's website. At the moment booking hasn't gone live, but it is possible to register interest here.
