Lightning performances from Sarah and April

Sarah Lawler and April Jones in Lancashire Lightning squad

Two Rainhill girls recently represented Lancashire in a 3-day cricket festival at Scarborough. Sarah Lawler and April Jones were part of the Lancashire Lightning team that took on Durham, Derbyshire and Yorkshire, playing each team twice over three days.

The format of the games was wother T20 or the Hundred-ball game. Both Sarah and April bowled in each game, and they both took wickets over the three days.

Lancashire Lightning's record from their six matches was three wins, one draw and two losses. There were a couple of very close games including against Derbyshire when, with six balls remaining, Lancashire needed one wicket and Derbyshire required just the single run for victory. Lancashire got the wicket!

Sarah and April stayed with the squad at Scarborough college for the two night, had a great time. It was an amazing experience for them and they are looking forward to hopefully being part of the squad next year.
