There's still time to sign up to break a world record
Players from Rainhill Cricket Club will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the quickest time to dress in cricket whites on Saturday 2nd October.
We want as many people as possible to join this, and it is open to anyone of any age or gender.
Want to take part? Here's what to do:
Familiarise yourself with the rules. They're p[retty straightforward. Basically, you need to put on a helmet, cricket jumper, one forearm pad, two batting gloves and two pads (leg guards) in as quick a time as you can. The full rules are here.
Watch it being done. The current world record holder, Blue Peter presenter Lindsay Russell, had her successful attempt to beat the previous time filmed live on TV. She managed an impressive 38.352 seconds. As this was filmed, there is a video to see exactly how she achieved it - which should give us a few ideas as to how to approach the challenge.
Sign up! You will need to confirm your participation. Send a message to Andrew Page at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a form you will need to complete (juniors require parental consent) which Andrew will send to you or can be downloaded here.
Raise some money. It's hardly a secret we're doing this to raise some money for the Scorebox fund! Please ask your friends and family to sponsor your world record attempt, either using this sponsor form or by donating to our crowdfunding page.
Get practising! Andrew will send you out a five minute time slot for your attempt on 2nd October.
The club believes this is a great idea but so far we haven't had a huge number of people signing up. Please consider taking part in what should be a lot of fun - or, if it's not for you, sponsor those of us who are!
