Trio of wins in U10 festival
Rainhill's girls win all three matches

Rainhill's u10s girls team took part in the Northern U10s Girls' Cricket Festival on Sunday 13th June and won all of their games.
In the first match they took of Fleetwood and won by a margin of 270 runs to 187. The next match, against hosts Northerm, was a much closer affair, with Rainhill's girls emerging triumphant in a nail-biting game by just 4 runs. In the third game, against a talented Liverpool side, Rainhill again won - this time by a healthy margin of 50 runs.
Reflecting on "a very proud day to be associated with the club", coach Mike Rotheram pointed to some great performances all round with plenty of 4’s, 6s, run outs, catches and wickets being taken. Perhaps even more importantly, the players thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The crricket festival provided an excellent platform for promising young players to showcase their skills, but it was also an event that, first and foremost, was designed to allow girls to have fun playing cricket.
