U15s in Orrell win
Impressive start to 2023 continues

Orrell Hurricanes 52-8 (Georgia Warburton 12, Charlie Serath 9; Arjun Bali 2-11) Rainhill 53-2 (Stevie Pennington 23*, Kieran Rose 10*; Henry Makinson 1-7) Rainhill (3 pts) beat Orrell Hurricanes (0 pts) by seven wickets Scorecard The U15's excellent start to the season continued with a seven wicket win over Orrell Hurricanes on Wednesday evening. A third consecutive win was the least the team deserved from a particularly impressive collective performance. Rainhill won the toss and opted to field. Two wickets apiece for Owen Morrisey, Arjun Bali and Jack Tyms - plus two run-outs - put Rainhill in a very strong position. Orrell reached 52 for 8 with Georgia Warburton (12) top scoring for the visitors. Rainhill fielded well throughout; Mackenzie Henderson and Stevie Pennington both took excellent catches. The run chase wasn't altogether straightforward for Rainhill. Arjun Bali was out without scoring when he was caught by wicketkeeper Jacob Caunce off the bowling of Henry Makinson. Ollie Unsworth and Stevie Pennington then built a promising partnership but when Unsworth was out to Jack Myers for 10, the score was on 24 for 2 and there was still work to do. Pennington and Kieran Rose rose to the challenge and helped Rainhill to the target without further loss. The result takes Rainhill to third in the league and just two points behind leaders Orrell Storm.
