Simon Brown
Simon joined Rainhill in the late 1970s and has played for the club in every decade since. He began life as a tennis player but soon discovered he was pretty good at cricket. He progressed to 1st team vice-captain under Ray Ford in 1994 - a year in which he scored 534 league runs and took 36 victims behind the stumps.
In 2017 Simon moved to St Helens Town where he spent four seasons and was a member of the promotion-winning team of 2019. He returned to Rainhill in 2021 and quickly re-established himself as the regular wicketkeeper.
